Portugal and Spain at the top of the rankings after the 3rd day

The defending champion won the leadership-match of the group A against Germany, while the home team surprised France in the beginning of their match. Victories for Italy and Switzerland too.

After three days of competition, the rankings of the groups are getting clearer at the 35th U-17 European Championship underway in Mieres (Spain).

In group A, Portugal, Germany and Italy have the same points, but only Portugal has always won. The defending champion defeated Germany today in the big match of the group and got e relavant advantage in the head to head matches. Italy dominated Austria and can still reach one of the first two position and qualify to the semifinals.
In group B, Spain remained alone in the first place, after having won against France thanks to a lightning start: two balls on the net in less than 30 seconds! Having won against both Switzerand and France that follow in the ranking, Spain is the first team qualified to the semifinals. In the same group, Switzerland obtained an important success with England and will fight with France for the second place in the group.

Austria – Italy 0-8
Portugal – Germany 6-1
Standing: Portugal, Germany and Italy 6 points, Andorra and Austria 0 points (Italy and Germany played a game more)
GROUP B
England – Switzerland 2-9
France – Spain 2-4
Standing: Spain 9 points, Switzerland 6 points, France 3 points, Israel and England 0 points (Spain and Switzerland played a game more)
