The four matches played today didn’t answer to the question: which teams will qualify to the semifinals together with Spain? The home team got it’s ticket to the semifinals on tuesday night and today, winning against Israel, ensured the 1st position in group B. The 2nd place for the medal’s knockout will be decided by a single match: Switzerland-France that will close the group stage on thursday night. Switzerland is forced to win because, in the case o a draw, France will have a better goal difference and will be second.
The situation is a little bit more complicated in Group A where three teams are still strugling for just two place. Portugal and Germany have three points more than Italy, but if the “azzurri” beat Portugal, all the teams will be at 9 points (Germany will rest in the last day of the group stage). In this case, the mosto likely situation is that Portugal and Italy will go to the semifinals. On the other hand, if Italy will not win the match, Portugal will be 1st and Germany 2nd.
In the matches played today, Germany, France, Portugal and Spain obtained easy and large victories against Andorra, England, Austria and Israel.
